We have directed projects aimed at the conservation of wildlife species and habitats. Examples including the series of projects across the UK aimed at conserving the remaining 58000 hectares of lowland heath in the UK; conserving the corncrake and the chough in the Argyll Islands; the black grouse in the upper catchment area of the River Tweed, the red squirrel in the Lagan valley in Northern Ireland, the horseshoe bat in Somerset and the natterjack toad on the North Norfolk coast and in the Surrey heaths.
